Terms of Service
Effective date: April 13, 2026 | Last updated: April 2026
⚠️ Important — Please Read
These Terms of Service contain important provisions including limitations of liability, disclaimers of warranties, and dispute resolution procedures. By accessing or using Global Contractor Connect, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at https://globalcontractorconnect.com and any associated mobile applications or services (collectively, the "Platform") operated by Global Contractor Connect ("we", "us", or "Company"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering an account, accessing, or using the Platform in any way, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Platform Description
Global Contractor Connect is an online marketplace that allows project owners ("Owners") to post construction and trade project opportunities, and contractors ("Contractors") to discover and respond to those opportunities. The Platform provides tools for project listing, contractor discovery, document sharing, and messaging.
We are a marketplace, not a contractor. We do not perform construction work, employ contractors, manage project execution, or guarantee the quality of any work performed. Any agreement for construction services is solely between the Owner and the Contractor.
3. Eligibility
You must be:
- At least 18 years of age.
- A legal entity or individual capable of entering binding contracts.
- Located in or doing business in the United States or Canada (for current platform coverage).
- Not prohibited from using the Platform under applicable law.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any lawful reason.
4. Accounts & Registration
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current registration information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at support@globalcontractorconnect.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts without prior written approval.
- We may reject, suspend, or delete accounts that violate these Terms.
5. User Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent project listings or contractor profiles.
- Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, licensing, or business.
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users.
- Use the Platform to solicit users off-platform in a way that circumvents our services.
- Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Platform without written permission.
- Transmit spam, malware, or unauthorized advertising.
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disable, or damage any part of the Platform.
Violation of these conduct rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
6. Marketplace Bidding & Procurement Standards
Global Contractor Connect is a professional procurement marketplace. All users agree to participate in the bidding and proposal process in good faith. The following obligations apply by role:
6.1 — Project Owners
By posting a project, owners agree to:
- Post projects with a genuine intent to evaluate and award work to a qualified contractor.
- Review contractor proposals and expressions of interest in good faith and within a reasonable time frame.
- Respond to contractor submissions — whether by shortlisting, declining, or requesting additional information — rather than leaving proposals unanswered.
- Not use the platform solely to collect pricing, market intelligence, or competitive bids without any intention to award a contract.
- Provide accurate and complete project details, including scope, budget range, location, and relevant trade requirements.
- Communicate award decisions to shortlisted contractors in a timely manner.
- Honour the terms of any contract or agreement made with an awarded contractor through the platform.
6.2 — Contractors
By submitting a proposal or expression of interest, contractors agree to:
- Submit accurate, honest proposals that reflect genuine capability and realistic pricing.
- Honour quoted pricing for the validity period stated in the proposal or, if none is stated, for a minimum of 30 calendar days.
- Respond to owner communications, clarification requests, and rebid invitations within a reasonable time frame.
- Not submit interest on projects they have no intention or capacity to perform.
- Maintain accurate company profile information, including licensing, insurance, and trade capabilities.
- Honour the terms of any contract or agreement made with a project owner through the platform.
6.3 — Enforcement
Repeated violations of these bidding standards — including posting projects without intent to award, abandoning proposals after submission, or pattern non-responsiveness — may result in account warnings, reduced visibility, or suspension at our sole discretion. We may use platform activity data (response rates, award rates, and contractor feedback) to identify accounts that consistently fail to meet these standards.
7. Due Diligence — User Responsibility
Critical — All Users Must Read
GLOBAL CONTRACTOR CONNECT IS A MARKETPLACE PLATFORM THAT FACILITATES INTRODUCTIONS BETWEEN PROJECT OWNERS AND CONTRACTORS. WE DO NOT VET, ENDORSE, GUARANTEE, OR ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY USER, CONTRACTOR, OWNER, PROJECT, PROPOSAL, OR WORK PERFORMED. ALL DUE DILIGENCE IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTIES INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION OR ENGAGEMENT.
7.1 — Owner Responsibilities
Before awarding any project or entering into any agreement with a Contractor found through the Platform, Owners are solely responsible for:
- Independently verifying all Contractor credentials, including but not limited to business licenses, trade certifications, and regulatory permits.
- Confirming that the Contractor carries adequate and current insurance coverage (general liability, workers' compensation, professional liability, or any other insurance required by the project or applicable law).
- Checking Contractor references, past project history, and reputation through independent sources — not solely relying on Platform profiles or badges.
- Entering into a written construction contract that clearly defines scope of work, pricing, payment terms, timelines, change order procedures, warranties, and dispute resolution.
- Ensuring compliance with all local building codes, permit requirements, and zoning regulations applicable to the project.
- Conducting background checks or security screening where appropriate, especially for projects involving residential access or sensitive facilities.
- Evaluating the financial stability and bonding capacity of the Contractor for the project at hand.
Global Contractor Connect does not verify Contractor licenses, insurance, qualifications, financial standing, or workmanship. Any verification badges or status indicators on the Platform are based on user-submitted information and do not constitute a guarantee, endorsement, or independent verification by Global Contractor Connect.
7.2 — Contractor Responsibilities
Before submitting proposals or entering into any agreement with an Owner found through the Platform, Contractors are solely responsible for:
- Independently verifying the legitimacy and financial capacity of the Owner or project entity before commencing work.
- Confirming that the project scope, site conditions, and specifications are accurate and complete before submitting pricing.
- Conducting their own site visits and assessments rather than relying solely on project descriptions posted on the Platform.
- Ensuring they hold all required licenses, permits, insurance, and bonding for the work they propose to perform.
- Entering into a written contract with the Owner that protects their interests, including payment schedules, lien rights, change order processes, and dispute resolution.
- Verifying that the Owner has obtained or will obtain all necessary building permits and regulatory approvals.
- Assessing the creditworthiness and payment history of the Owner through independent means.
Global Contractor Connect does not verify Owner identity, financial capacity, project legitimacy, or ability to pay. Project listings are user-submitted and may contain inaccuracies. Contractors must perform their own independent due diligence before committing to any project.
7.3 — Platform Limitations
Users expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- Global Contractor Connect is not a party to any contract between Owners and Contractors and has no obligation to mediate, arbitrate, or resolve disputes between users.
- The Platform does not provide legal, financial, construction, or insurance advice. Users should consult qualified professionals for such matters.
- Profile verification badges, ratings, and reviews are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute a recommendation or guarantee.
- Global Contractor Connect shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, delay, cost overrun, defective work, non-payment, fraud, or any other harm resulting from interactions between users — whether or not those interactions originated on the Platform.
- Users waive any and all claims against Global Contractor Connect arising from the failure of another user to perform their obligations, deliver quality work, or make timely payments.
8. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you post ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content as necessary to operate the Platform.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the right to post your User Content.
- Your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
- Your User Content complies with these Terms and applicable law.
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate — without notice or liability.
9. Payments & Subscriptions
- Certain features require a paid subscription. Prices are listed on our Pricing page.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment details, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid billing period. No refunds are issued for unused time unless required by applicable law.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice.
- Failure to pay may result in account suspension or downgrade.
10. Free Trials
- We may offer a 14-day free trial for certain subscription plans. Trial availability is determined at our sole discretion and may be withdrawn at any time.
- A valid credit or debit card is required to start a free trial. Your card will be verified but not charged during the trial period.
- Unless you cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and your card will be charged at the applicable plan rate.
- Free trials are limited to one per user per plan. Users who have previously subscribed to a plan are not eligible for a trial of that same plan.
- Contractors may only access a VIP free trial if they hold an active Standard subscription.
- We reserve the right to revoke a trial at any time if we determine abuse or fraudulent use, including creating multiple accounts to obtain repeated trials.
- During the trial period, all Terms of Service apply in full, including limitations of liability and user conduct requirements.
11. Disclaimers — No Warranty
Important Disclaimer
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
We make no warranties or representations about:
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content posted by users.
- The qualifications, licensing, insurance, or workmanship of any contractor.
- The outcome of any project or contractor engagement.
- The suitability of any contractor for any particular project.
- That any project will receive contractor responses.
As outlined in Section 7 (Due Diligence), Owners and Contractors are each solely responsible for independently verifying the credentials, legitimacy, and capabilities of any party they engage with through the Platform. Global Contractor Connect assumes no responsibility for these verifications.
12. Limitation of Liability
Liability Cap
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GLOBAL CONTRACTOR CONNECT, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
We are not liable for any disputes, losses, damages, injuries, or other harms arising from interactions, agreements, or work performed between Owners and Contractors. All construction contracts are solely between those parties.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Global Contractor Connect and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Platform.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Any User Content you post or submit.
- Any dispute between you and another user of the Platform.
14. No Employment or Agency Relationship
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between Global Contractor Connect and any user (Owner or Contractor). Contractors are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Global Contractor Connect. We do not supervise, direct, or control the work of any Contractor.
Global Contractor Connect is not a party to any contract for construction services and has no responsibility for the performance, quality, safety, or legal compliance of any work undertaken as a result of introductions made through the Platform.
15. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, including for:
- Violation of these Terms.
- Fraudulent or illegal activity.
- Conduct harmful to other users or the Platform.
- Non-payment of subscription fees.
Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including liability limits, disclaimers, and indemnification) shall survive.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@globalcontractorconnect.com.
16. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada (or the applicable jurisdiction where Global Contractor Connect is incorporated), without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
Informal Resolution: Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at support@globalcontractorconnect.com to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We will attempt to resolve disputes within 30 days.
Arbitration: If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. Class action lawsuits are waived to the extent permitted by law.
17. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Platform.
