Posting your first project
- 1From your dashboard click Post a Project, or go to globalcontractorconnect.com/owner.
- 2Enter the project title, location (city, state/province, country), and a description of the scope.
- 3Select the primary trade category (e.g. General Contractor, Electrical, Plumbing). You can add multiple trades.

- 5Add optional start date, end date, and any drawings or documents.
- 6Set visibility: Public (visible to all contractors) or Invite-only (only contractors you invite can see it).
- 7Click Publish. Your project goes live immediately and verified contractors matching your trade will be notified.
Projects with a budget range, clear scope description, and at least one document receive 3Γ more qualified interest.
Reviewing contractor interest
- 1Go to your project β Contractors tab. You'll see all contractors who have expressed interest.
- 2Each contractor card shows their company name, trade, location, years in business, and verification status.
- 3Click a contractor to view their full profile including past projects and licence details.
- 4Use the status buttons to Shortlist (move to active consideration) or Decline (politely removes them).
- 5Shortlisted contractors can send you direct messages through the platform.

- 4Alternatively, use Bid Packages (VIP / Pro feature) to send formal invitation-to-tender links with specific scope items.
Frequently asked questions β Owners
Is posting a project really free?
Yes. Creating an account and posting unlimited projects is completely free for project owners. The full project management suite (milestones, budgets, RFIs, change orders, daily reports, documents) is also included at no cost.
Can I post private / invite-only projects?
Yes. When creating a project, set visibility to Invite-only. Only contractors you explicitly invite will be able to see or respond to it.
How do I remove a project from the marketplace?
Go to your project settings and set the status to Closed or Archived. Closed projects stop accepting new interest but remain visible to shortlisted contractors.
Can I have multiple projects running at once?
Yes β there is no limit on how many projects you can post simultaneously.

Frequently asked questions β Contractors
How many projects can I bid on for free?
Free accounts have a limited number of interest submissions per month. Upgrading to Standard or VIP removes these limits and gives you access to more projects.
How does contractor verification work?
You submit your trade licence number and insurance details in your profile. Our team manually reviews and marks your profile as Verified β this badge is displayed on all your proposals.
Can I message an owner directly?
Direct messaging opens once an owner shortlists you. Free accounts have a message thread limit; Standard and VIP plans increase this significantly.
Will I be notified when new matching projects are posted?
Yes. You'll receive email and in-app notifications for new projects that match your selected trade categories and location.
Bidding & Bid Packages
How formal bid packages, pricing sheets, and bid leveling work.
Bid Packages are available to project owners on any plan. Creating packages, inviting subcontractors, and receiving priced bids is included free. Importing takeoff quantities into packages requires a VIP subscription.
Creating a bid package (Owners)
- 1Go to your project β Bidding tab β click Create Package.
- 2Give the package a title (e.g. "Electrical β Phase 1"), select the trade, and set a due date.
- 3Add line items manually: description, measurement type, quantity, and unit.
- 4If you have VIP access, click Import from Takeoff to pull quantities directly from your takeoff sessions.
- 5Invite subcontractors by email or from the Contractor Directory.
- 6Click Publish to send invitation emails with the unique bid link.
Reviewing and leveling bids (Owners)
- 1Once bids are received, go to your package β Submissions tab.
- 2Click Level Bids to open the leveling view β a side-by-side comparison of all received prices.
- 3Review totals, per-line-item prices, and any bidder notes.
- 4Click Re-bid on any submission to request a revised price from that contractor.
- 5Award the package to your preferred bidder directly from the leveling view.
Use the leveling view to identify outlier pricing β unusually low bids may indicate a misunderstood scope item.

VIP Features

Owners get the Takeoff module for quantity measurement and the ability to import takeoff quantities directly into bid packages.
Using the GCC Takeoff tool
- 1Access Takeoff from your Dashboard β GCC Takeoff tab (contractors) or from Project β Takeoff tab (owners).
- 2Click New Session to start a takeoff. Give it a name and optionally link it to a project.
- 3Click Upload Drawing to upload a PDF plan sheet. Set the sheet scale (e.g. 1:100) for accurate measurements.
- 4Select a trade group (e.g. Electrical, Plumbing, Structural) and a measurement tool: Linear, Area, Count, or trade-specific calculators.
- 5Draw on the plan: click to trace linear runs, click to define areas, or click to count items.
- 6Each measurement creates a line item with auto-calculated quantity, unit, and trade.
- 7When finished, export the line items or Import into a Bid Package to build your pricing sheet.
Set your scale correctly before measuring β an incorrect scale will throw off all quantities. Use the calibration tool to verify against a known dimension on the drawing.
Your proposals and profile appear at the top of owner dashboards and search results, giving you maximum visibility on every project.
Your profile and submissions are ranked higher in owner search results and contractor shortlisting views.
14 trade groups including roofing, CMU/masonry, structural steel, rebar, and scaffolding. All with auto-calculations and PDF overlay.
VIP removes message thread limits so you can communicate with as many shortlisted owners and contractors as you need.

Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to resolve them quickly.
Common issues
I'm not receiving email notifications.
Check your spam/junk folder first. Add support@globalcontractorconnect.com to your contacts. If the problem persists, go to Account Settings β Notifications and make sure email notifications are enabled.
My password reset email hasn't arrived.
Check your spam folder and wait up to 5 minutes. If it still hasn't arrived, try requesting again. Make sure you're entering the email address associated with your account.
A project isn't showing up in my search results.
Projects may be invite-only, or your trade category filters may be excluding them. Try clearing all filters and searching again.
I submitted interest but the owner hasn't responded.
Owners review submissions at their own pace. Most respond within 5β10 business days. If a project closes without a response, it means the owner filled the position.
My bid package invitation link isn't working.
Invitation links expire after the package closing date. Contact the owner directly through the project page to request a new link.
The Takeoff tool isn't loading my PDF drawing.
Make sure your PDF is under 50 MB and not password-protected. If the issue persists, try a different browser or clear your browser cache.
I'm seeing an error when trying to pay.
Double-check your card number, expiry, and CVV. Make sure your billing address matches what your bank has on file. If your card is being declined, contact your bank β some banks block international transactions.
The language switcher changed the page but some text didn't translate.
Google Translate works on most text but may skip dynamically loaded content. Refresh the page after switching languages and the translation will re-apply.
